BOE Candidate Forum

Moorestown’s Home & School organization will be hosting a Board of Education (BOE) Candidate Forum via Zoom on Monday, October 18th at 7 p.m. MooreUnity will be moderating the event as they have for the past several years. The Candidate Forum provides voters with an opportunity to get to know each of the six candidates, so they can make informed decisions on Election Day.

To ensure the Forum runs smoothly in the Zoom format, voters are asked to submit questions in advance to [email protected] no later than October 12th. As questions come in, MooreUnity will work with a statistician to prioritize them based upon the most common themes. The BOE election is non-partisan, but to avoid any perception of party favoritism, the MooreUnity volunteers who read and prioritize the questions will be made up of an equal number of Democrats and Republicans.

We hope you can join, but if you can’t, the event will be recorded and available to view at a later date. Here’s the link: Please click the link below to join the webinar:

Moorestown Better Together Survey

The Better Together Moorestown task force, formed earlier this year by Town Council has a mission of making Moorestown a thriving community where all people feel safe, respected, welcomed and included.  To assess the community’s strengths and areas for improvement, the task force is asking anyone who lives, works, worships in (or frequently visits) Moorestown to complete the community survey.  The survey is open through October 31st.  Participants are asked to provide honest feedback about their experiences living and/or working in Moorestown.  It only takes about 5-10 minutes to complete and can be accessed at Better Together Moorestown Community Survey or by using the QR code below.  All responses are anonymous.  Those needing assistance completing the survey due to lack of internet, language/vision challenges, or any other reasons can contact the Better Together Survey hotline at (856) 942-3283 or e-mail [email protected]

Book Fair

The UES Book Fair will be held October 18th-22nd. Due to Covid restrictions, students will only be able to purchase books and other fair items during their scheduled class time. If your child would like to buy books, please make sure they are prepared for the day that they are scheduled. Book Fair flyers will be backpacked home next week. You can go to the link below to create an e-wallet which allows your child to purchase items in a cashless manner. If they don’t get a chance to purchase at the in-school fair, they can always purchase at the online fair, which runs from October 15th-28th.  https://www.scholastic.com/bf/moorestownupperelementary1

Please note: There will NOT be a Family Night scheduled for this fall fair.

As soon as we get the class schedule completed, we will send out a sign-up for volunteers. We will also be sending out a link if you’d like to donate snacks for the Teacher Preview event.

If you have any further questions, please reach out to Danielle Zukowski at [email protected]
